This has definitely been my most sporadic blog summer since I started my blog back in 2010. It’s been a pretty busy summer so far, but most days we’re busy with just the normal stuff of daily life.
The biggest event of the past couple weeks was our trip north to the Adirondacks last weekend for the half marathon in Lake Placid.
The first order of business was for Harry to put on his “techie person” hat at my mother’s house.
On Saturday we drove over to Lake Placid to pick up our materials for the half.
We ate lunch at a restaurant with an outdoor café and a really pretty view.
And then we attended the retirement get-together for my mother, who has worked for the local doctor in my hometown for about 30 years.
Isn’t this the coolest cake ever?
After this busy day, we headed home to get some rest for our half-marathon the next morning.
But this blog is long enough, so I’ll pick up with the rest of the story in my next installment.
That is without a doubt the most creative cake I have ever seen!!! Congratulations to your mother and wishing her many many happy retirement years!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI so admire your dedication to running and the physical/medical perks go without saying!!! Good for you!!
