Got It!

Location: Catskill, NY (High 74, Low 53)

I was just mentioning yesterday that our plans for heading out were waiting for one more piece of information – our start date at Amazon. Not too long after I posted yesterday’s blog, I happened to look at my email, and there it was! We were very happy to see that we received the start date that we were hoping for – September 16th. So it looks like we will be leaving here around the 11th to head for Campbellsville. Smile We are both excited at the thought of getting started in a few weeks.

This is going to be a quick blog, as we are in the midst of packing up the rig. Today is maintenance day, so we will be hitching up around 8 am to head over to the repair place.

  2. Have you heard that they are going to open an Amazon center in Florida? I'll bet those jobs will be really hard to get!

    1. I did hear that, but I think I remember reading in their newsletter that they didn't plan to expand the camperforce program there. (yet) Would definitely be an awesome place to get a job for the holiday season!

  3. Congrats, Jessica, on becoming an 'Amazon Woman' - not sure what that makes Harry though!

    Should be an interesting experience.

  4. Congratulations on getting the start date you wanted. I'm interested in hearing about your experience. When we made reservations at Gulf Waters there was only 4 sites to choose from, sounds like it's a popular place-can't wait.

  5. I think your running is going to help a lot towards the physical work at Amazon. Good planning :) Bet it will feel good to hit the road again.

    1. Yes it will be nice to get back on the road soon. We packed up everything this morning and it felt really natural. Just like riding a bike! ;)

  7. We are work camping with a couple here at Camp Hatteras that have to be at Amazon on Sept. 9. Names are Robbie and Stacy. Look them up. They have been work camping for quite a while and have it down pat. Very nice people.

  8. I'm looking forward to hearing about Amazon. You have an early start date. I interviewed for the Kansas location, but decided not to take the job at this time. They were looking for workampers to work the summer, take 2 months off, and then come back. I do not have a tow car, so I was concerned about finding a campground close to the Amazon building and my other concern was the weather, I really do not want to camp anywhere where it may get cold. I guess I am spoiled by the warm temperatures of the Gulf Coast.

    1. We are so used to NY's fall and winter that the average temps in KY for November and December sound pretty warm to us! :) We are glad that we could start early - that is why we started the application process back in Jan. - because we wanted to work as much of the season as possible.

  11. It's good to hear that your Amazon job will be starting soon! Sorry I have been so quiet, but without internet service here in Yellowstone, my surfing time for the blogs we follow, is limited to a couple of minutes when we run into town for groceries. Safe travels to Kentucky!!
