Two Months Down!

Location: Campbellsville, KY (High 55, Low 28)

Believe it or not, today marked the two month anniversary of our starting date at Amazon. I think we have both acclimated to the work pretty well. For the most part, our sore muscles are a thing of the past. We just come home from our shifts bone tired and pretty much ready for bed. We also just finished our first 50 hour week, as we did end up having the overtime shift yesterday. I feel for the people who are just starting at Amazon for the season – I can’t imagine just starting and jumping right into the overtime weeks. At least for them it’s only for six weeks, a small saving grace. That’s another amazing thought - six weeks is all that we have left, it’s so crazy – I know those weeks are going to go so amazingly fast.

I spent some time on Thursday doing some planning and dreaming…looked at some of the places we are going to stay and checked them out on Google Earth. I am starting to get really excited at the thought of getting back out there on the road again. By the time the middle of December comes, I am going to be SO ready.

The weather has still been pretty nice. The overnight temps have been a bit cool, but the days are beautiful, in the 50s mostly, and with the sunshine it feels very pleasant. I saw pictures on facebook that friends and family posted over the past few days – they have been starting to get the white stuff up north. I’m sure not missing that.

  2. Really surprised that you have completed two months. It is a good thing that you are accustomed to the activity. And the $$$$ keep rolling in.

  3. I hear you about the white stuff, our friends in VT aren't happy when I tell them I've been soaking up the sun while they are expecting inches of s**w. Yeah, you're over the hump, keep the $$$'s coming in and before you know it it will be over.

  6. Hi you two, I enjoy reading what you are up to. Do the cats mind when you are gone all day? So where are you headed when you leave there? Darlene and Jim from Pa we met at the pine grove KOA.

    1. I think the cats do miss us, they are definitely people cats. When we get home and open the door, they are both sitting there waiting to greet us. And on our days off, they are basically parked next to us on our chairs getting all the lovin' up they missed the other days. :)

When we leave here, we are heading to GA to celebrate the holidays with my aunt and her family. Then we are going to New Orleans for a week and through LA to the gulf coast of TX. All new places for us, so we are really excited!!
