Another Month Underway

Location: Catskill, NY (High 77, Low 63)

It’s been two weeks now since we came back from our weekend away in Cape Cod. I know this is such a cliché, but I just don’t know where the summer has gone.

We’ve been busy all the time, most of the time with normal everyday activities.cairotownpark2 Five days a week we’ve been getting up at the crack of dawn (as in 5 am!) to go down to the town park for 6 am and do our morning run. Even though the weather has been awesome, with most highs in the high 70s and low 80s, that’s still pretty hot for running. Running in the early morning is definitely the way to go. That time before the sun really comes up, when the coolness from the night is still in the air, is the cairotownparkbest! Our total for July was 100 miles. We have one more month before we start at Amazon, and then the more challenging time will begin. We are determined to keep up with our running even while we’re working at Amazon, so we shall see if we can do it.

harryofficeWe’ve just about gotten to the end of time for working at my sister’s office. I don’t even know how many boxes of files I scanned, but I do think I made a nice dent in the paperwork in their file room. Harry did his part too. He painted a hallway, and my sister’s office, and put up a nice shelf system in her office as well. It looks great!

IMG_2780We also had one more four day visit with Schaun. Even though the place is a little tight with all the stuff that a five year old ends up with all over, it always is so much fun to have him here, and sad to say good-bye until the next time.

For the past few days, we’ve been having fun with friends that we met at a Heartland icecreamrally in Florida our first winter (and new fulltimers!) Bonnie and Dick. We’ve shown them around the local area, including a trip to Albany today, and this evening we went to one of our favorite ice cream spots. Yum.

We have one more weekend here before we leave on Monday to head up to the Adirondacks until the 18th of August. Then we will be packing up to head down to Kentucky where we will be getting started at Amazon on August 26th. Our vacation time is just about over.
