November Days

IMG_3545We are firmly into the dreary fall days of the year. Once all of the brilliant colors are gone, we are often left with gray skies and only occasional splashes of sunshine. Although I am not looking forward to snow, sometimes it is almost a welcome change to brighten up our surroundings. Not enough to make me wish for snow though!

Our temperatures have been steadily decreasing, but it hasn’t been super cold. We turned on our heat last night for the second time – other than the one night in October we didn’t run the heat at all in the whole month! For the upcoming week the highs are going to be in the 40s and the lows in the low 30s, so it sounds like our heat is on for good now.

Here in upstate NY, we were very lucky to be spared the devastation of Sandy that struck NYC and many areas of NJ and other states on the East coast. Up here, we just had a rainstorm with some wind. We have friends and family that were affected, and are still dealing with the aftermath.

Not too much going on around here. Still playing the waiting game on the house sale. We know it will sell when the time is right.

Tomorrow we will take the rig to have the coolant system replaced. Then she will be hanging out in the driveway until we are able to hit the road. We have signed up for our first event of next year – in April 2013 – a campout in Lancaster PA. We sure hope we’ll be traveling north to get there!

  1. Yeah, looking a bit gray ;-( I hope the forecast isn't for a lot of snow this winter.

  2. glad to hear that all is well in your neighbourhood. May your family and friends who were affected by 'Sandy' have their lives back to some sense of normal soon.
