Starting to Wind Down

Location: Campbellsville, KY (High 50, Low 39)

The holiday weekend is over, and it was pretty uneventful in our little corner of the Amazon world. It is really evident that the Inbound peak is over. Both yesterday and today we were scraping for work to send down the receiving line. Today they even put people to work on replacing tape on the floor and sweeping up. We haven’t seen those types of jobs since maybe sometime back in October? I can’t even remember when for sure. Before we went to lunch this morning, we were so short on work (incoming product) that I was even wondering whether they were going to offer VTO. But nope, we managed to find enough around to keep the processes going until the end of the workday. Tomorrow.is our Friday and then we have two…count ‘em…TWO days off. We are really looking forward to that. Next week’s schedule is not yet up, but we’re wondering whether they aren’t going to be putting us back to 40 hour weeks already instead of the 50 hour week we were expecting.

The weather has taken a nice turn for the better. It was in the 50s today – I was comfortable in my shorts and t-shirt on the way home which was so awesome for December. We are looking at mid to high 50s on our two days off. Yes!! By the way, did I mention that we were looking forward to our days off? :)

AND…only 11 days left to work!! YAY!

  1. Yay almost done, isn't it great not be in shorts in Dec, we even got the tank tops on today but the weather is going to get colder soon so we're enjoying it while we can.

  2. I bet you guys are so ready to be over this, so you can travel to someplace warmer :) It did get nice today here, mid 70's. Woohoo!

  3. We're due to stay here in Coffeyville until the 23rd but I may have the option to stay til February. Enjoyed your accounts of Amazon and YOU are runner-up for Feature Blog of the Month at www.journeylinks.com !
