Location: Marathon, FL (High 80, Low 72)
After two days of travel, we are very happy to have landed in our stopping spot for the next few weeks. For most of the past two days, this was our view. Today we were happy that the showers were more sporadic, and by mid-morning, we were seeing some sunshine peeking through.
New Year’s turned out to be an awesome day for traveling, as we sailed along by Fort Lauderdale and Miami on mostly empty roads.
The main slow down we had was for the merge onto Highway 1 for the trip down into the Keys, and there were also some stop and go moments along Highway 1, especially through Islamorada.
I took this picture standing in front of the office – that’s our site over to the left.
All the delays had added about an hour to our trip, but we were still pulling in around 2 pm. I think we were one of the first rigs to arrive today, because shortly after we pulled in to our site, the area by the office was all of a sudden full of rigs pulling in. This was the view from our side back window facing toward the office.
The remainder of our day consisted of getting set up, so I’ll leave you with a few pictures from around Grassy Key RV Resort…
Glad you made it safe and sound.
