Getting Ready to Head Out

We are on vacation! The last one of the year. Wow, it seems like I was just doing a blog post about our six planned trips of the 2012 season. And now tomorrow we will be hitting the road for our last, and longest trip of the year – both in distance (313 miles) and time (10 days)! Our IMG_3226destination – Seashore Campsites, in Cape May, NJ. According to the website, it is just a few minutes walk from the ocean. I am so looking forward to this trip.

Last year we were already planning a trip to Cape May, when we found out that the NJ Heartland Owners rally was being planned for October. So we decided to plan our weeklong vacation to coincide with the rally. We will be arriving on Monday, and the rally is next weekend. It will be nice to have a little bit of everything – time to just hang out, take walks on the beach, explore the surroundings, and then end the week hanging out with our Heartland friends. This is our third Heartland rally of the year, so we are getting to know people and it’s so much fun to get back together and share some laughs and good times.

Harry spent much of the day getting the fiver ready for traveling – checking the tires etc, and rearranging the basement. When I got home, I put some stuff away that was out on the countertops, and moved most of what we will need over to the kitchen from our fridge in the house. We still have a few last minute items to move tomorrow, plus we have to make sure the house is spic and span for any showings while we are gone. Our realtor is also planning an open house for next Sunday.

2012-10-13_10-32-34_358The picture at the top is the view from my desk area at work. I took it about a week or so ago. Today I took another one – the view is still pretty nice. I predict that these trees will all be bare the next time I go to work!

Tomorrow we take a short 2 hour trip south to Black Bear Campground, where we will stay overnight, and then move on to Cape May, NJ on Monday.

  1. I'll be looking forward to hearing how you like the park in Cape May. We had plans last year to go to Cape May for a wee getaway but Irene and Lee had a different agenda for us. Who knows, maybe a trip to the beach will be in store for us in 2013.

  4. Have a great weekend at Camp May. Owning a Heartland Big Country 5'er, I'd love to go to a Heartland Rally but living on an Island it just hasn't worked out for us.

    Great header photo!
