We have been extremely short-handed at work the past couple of weeks, and the time has been going by so quickly! Here we are again, at another weekend!
Work is not the only thing going by fast. The past few nights have been really cool, and at times I can smell the scents of autumn in the air. The kids are starting to talk about going back to school, and “fall stuff” is coming to mind, like Halloween and blazing colors in the trees. Before I worked in my current job, I was a teacher for about 16 years. So September always seems like the start of a new year to me, even though I’m not on that schedule anymore. It’s a good feeling, because I like fall and all the rituals that go along with it – like wearing sweatshirts, eating apple cider donuts, and watching football!! But it’s bittersweet too, because I know what follows closely behind. And let’s just say, I’m not so enamored by the rituals of winter.
Yesterday Harry went out and turned on the heat in the fiver. He said it heats up really quickly. We will most likely be using the heat more than the air conditioning when we go to Lake George in a few weeks.
We almost sold the car this week. I was waiting to write until after things were finalized, but the sale fell through. So we’ve had a nibble, and a bite, and hopefully the next one will make it all the way to the finish line!
Today Harry is going to stain the last window upstairs while I am at work. The job is almost done!! The only one left will be around the sliding glass door that goes out to our back deck. Then this afternoon we are heading to Albany to see the Harry Potter movie with a friend of ours. I have seen some of the movies at the theater and some only when they came out on dvd. But this last one I really wanted to see in the theater, so I’m glad we’re going to make it. Sometimes we decide we would like to see a movie that’s coming out, but it comes and goes before we make it there! Anyone else ever had that experience?
Have a great Saturday everyone!
have a lovely weekend, Jessica!!..enjoy your 'date'!!
ReplyDeleteI seldom make it to the theater to see a movie but some are just more fun on the big screen.
ReplyDeleteI was in Walmart the other day and they had Halloween costumes already! Seems a little strange but I don't really mind because fall is my favorite season also.
Have a great weekend.
