Last Weekend in Jacksonville

Location: Jacksonville, FL (High 81, Low 62)

IMG_4376Today has been another gorgeous day! And so was yesterday. Last night we actually left our windows open. Had nice fresh air coming in all night – I love it!

It has been so nice to be in Jacksonville for the month. Harry’s sister Linda lives here and we have been able to visit with her every weekend.

This morning we started out with breakfast at a local place. Sausage gravy and biscuits – yum. Definitely something I would have been better off not discovering that I loved. Flirt male

On our way back to Linda’s house, we stopped in a new development where both of Harry’s nephews have recently built homes.

This whole neighborhood is brand new.

These lots are all sold, and there are going to be three more homes built in this area.

The side view from the backyard reminded me of watching episodes of House Hunters on HGTV when people complain about close neighbors.

But the view to the back was much nicer.

After we got back to the campground, we had another nice afternoon with more of what has become the usual…walk a few miles, sit outside, read our kindles, cooked dinner on the grill. A very nice day.

Tomorrow, we will be doing some more sightseeing with Linda. Enjoying our last weekend here in Jacksonville.

  1. I just love sleeping with the windows open, but some campsites are too close to do that.

  2. I typically sleep with a window open a bit, but it's been too darn cold this winter to do so. Another reason I'm looking forward to Spring. I'm also ready to get the grill out again; I miss our dinners cooked outdoors.

  3. A grill is something Jerry and I must purchase very, very soon!! We sure do miss it...in our "bricks and sticks" life, we grilled out at least twice a week. Does your grill fit OK in the basement?

    1. Yes it fits great. We have the Weber Q 200. The stand is detachable and folds up nicely. We love it and use it probably at least 2 - 3 times a week. :)

  4. Still haven't slept with the windows open here :( Gets very chilly at night! Your month in Jacksonville sure went by fast.

  5. Nice to see you getting such great weather?

Sausage gravy and biscuits? I'll take the biscuits as long as they have blackberry jam on them. Yuk - I tried that sausage gravy stuff a few yeas ago and darned near gagged. Lots of folks love it though!
