I hardly even know where to begin…it’s been such a crazy, fun, busy whirlwind kind of week.
Last Monday we headed out bright and early for MA to pick up our grandson Schaun for a weeklong visit.
It was a great week. We had so much fun.
My sister’s youngest son Andrew came over as well and stayed for most of the week.
On Wednesday we took the whole crew over to Zoom Flume Water Park.
The day was not as warm as we would have liked, but we all had a good time anyway.
On Friday, Denise and I left for Glens Falls, NY where we would be staying the night before our half-marathon on Saturday in Lake George. We talked about the fact that we hadn’t done anything like this since we took a trip to Boston many many moons ago, before Denise was even married. We had a great time, and a lot of laughs.
Saturday morning we traveled to Camp Chingachgook on Lake George, which is a YMCA summer camp and the finish line for the half-marathon. We left the car there and took a shuttle to the starting point.
Lake George is very hilly, and the course for the race was a challenging one, but I finished it! I came in at 3:06:19, which I was extremely happy with, especially considering that it was my first one and after running for only eleven weeks. I am already looking ahead to #2!
On the way home, Denise and I stopped for lunch and I celebrated with a yummy drink.
Today was our last day with Schaun. It was a pretty relaxing day, although we did fit in a little trip to the ice cream place. We took Schaun to meet his mother at the thruway exit about an hour ago, and now we are once again child-free. We had an absolutely wonderful week, but at the same time, it’s always nice to get back to normal again.
Tomorrow morning we leave for Peru, NY and two weeks in the Adirondacks!
Outstanding!!! So glad you had such a fun week with Schaun and your sister. Congratulations on your run!! :-)

ReplyDeleteAre you anywhere near Burlington?
DeleteWe are in Johnson about a little over an hour east, we head into Burlington often though as that's the only place to do any real shopping
DeleteYou guy's really did a great job, you both should stand very proud and tall with this one under your belts...Way to go.
