Location: Catskill, NY (High 80, Low 57)
It was a couple weeks ago that the steamy hot weather passed, and since then the weather has been absolutely perfect. Most days in the 70s; most nights in the 50s and low 60s. Couldn’t ask for nicer weather.
We have been enjoying watching the birds at the feeder. My favorites are definitely the cardinals so far. We have had visits from both the male and the female.
Harry has been doing more of those maintenance type things around here in preparation for getting back on the road soon. He has torqued the tires, checked air pressure, and yesterday he was up on the ladder waxing the cap. Neither of us like heights so I am very impressed when he gets up there and does this stuff!
This is his favorite level to work on!
Last night we went over to town and took in our nephew’s soccer game. We have both enjoyed being around for this kind of stuff this summer.
Our time here is ticking down fast though. Next week our grandson is coming back for another visit, and the half marathon I have been preparing for is at the end of the week - next Saturday, the 10th. The Monday after that we head up to the Adirondacks to visit my mother for a couple weeks. And then we only have two more weeks back here in Catskill before we head out for Kentucky! We have both enjoyed our summer here immensely, but at the same time we are excited about getting back on the road. It’s so great that we can enjoy the best of both worlds!
You are lucky to get the cardinals. Once they find out you have sunflower seeds, they'll keep coming :) We used to buy them a sack of them in addition to the wild bird food we used, when we were in PA.
ReplyDeleteSure sounds like you are getting that hitch itch that seems to attack when we stay in one place for awhile.
ReplyDeleteYour weather sounds wonderful!!! I can't wait for those temps to be in this area. It has been so hot (and wet) this summer.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys are ready to "hit the road" again!!
We have lots of Cardinals at the feeders in our backyard. I love them too!! So pretty!!
