I thought we had reached the end of our purchasing for the fiver, for a little while anyway! But last night we headed out on another shopping expedition. You may recall that last year we traded our two recliners for one recliner – which left us with a recliner and a couch. I thought that would work, as I always sat on a couch in our house anyway. But something about this couch is not being kind to my back. Over the last week I’ve been having some back pain, and I find myself perched on the edge of the couch, having to sit up straight to keep my back feeling better.
So…meet my new chair! (Sorry it’s a little blurry, I took it with my phone.)
It’s not going to be in green though – the color is cafĂ©, which is a light brown. I am happy – it is a really comfy chair.
It is being delivered two weeks from tomorrow. So then it will be time to do more rearranging of furniture in here. The couch is going, so I think our living room area is going to look pretty spacious.
My other purchase was a little bit smaller…
my new bakeware!
Since we were getting a little tight on weight, I was rethinking what baking pans I wanted to bring with me, so I thought of silicone. Harry looked at Target online and found a couple nice sets of silicone bakeware. This whole set weighs maybe 2 or 3 pounds! Two muffin pans, two loaf pans, two cake pans, a baking sheet and a bundt pan.
And it stores nicely too!
We are almost to another weekend! And we actually have a little fun planned for this one – a hike on Sunday and the weather looks like it is going to cooperate. It is also exciting to think that we are only one week from our first trip!
You'll like the chair! They are so comfy. Let me know how the silicone bakeware works. I've always been interested in them.
ReplyDeleteI will - I think I am going to bake something next week while we are away. I will have a little time to do some baking then. :)
Deletenice new comfy chair!... removing the couch will sure give you alot more room!!
ReplyDeleteYou are gonna love that new chair of yours. We very seldom use the couch unless we have company and can't sit outside. I had to laugh when I read about the bakeware. I started out this journey thinking I would continue to bake like I always did in the stix and bricks. Well, four years later I can't tell you the last time I baked anything. And yet we have friends and she bakes more now then she did before.
ReplyDeleteNice, comfy looking chair. I have a question, when you took the original chair out of your 5'er, did you have to remove the back or anything to get it out the door?
ReplyDeleteNo it actually came out pretty easily. We just had to turn it on its side. The couch however - Harry is hoping he will be able to take that apart.
Deleteo.k. thanks!
DeleteWe whiched chairs to Lazyboys wall huggers. Loved the chairs which came with rig but had to pull them out too far from the wall. I would not give up my sofa. Often I lay on it watching tv. In fact, I think I use it more than my recliner.
ReplyDeleteNice bakeware. Wondering, does your unit have the panel under the fridge like Laurens/Georges does and we have? We did as George did and put a hinge on it. I store our bakeware there.
I like to lay on a couch and watch tv as well. But I can't do that on this one for some reason. That's what I was doing when my back started to give me problems.
DeleteI forgot to answer your question - we do have storage space under the fridge. There is a built-in drawer down there. I originally had my baking stuff down there, but once I got the silicone bakeware, I put them up high because they are so light, and left the drawer for heavier stuff.
DeleteThe sofa that came with our 5er was terribly uncomfortable, so we sold it and got a twin bed. This makes a nice daybed, with big pillows for napping, reading, using my laptop (like I am right now) and still gives us an extra sleeping area. I sleep on it quite a bit, as I tend to wake very early and seem to be too warm in the bedroom during Winter. Everyone finds the arrangement that works for them and I bet you'll love that recliner!
