Part II – Check

Location: Williston, FL (High 79, Low 54)

IMG_4528Big news of the day – we received our new South Dakota plates!

Harry promptly trotted outside and switched them. Bye-bye, New York expensive registration and yearly inspections!

This marks the completion of the second step in the process to change our IMG_4529domicile to South Dakota. Back in December, we opened an account with Alternative Resources and started changing our address everywhere. Last week, we filled out the registration paperwork and sent it off to South Dakota. Now that we have received our new license plates, the only thing left to do is get our drivers licenses in April.

My exercising is going great. I have been doing 5 to 6 miles each day, and am loving it! So far for March I have walked 17 hr, 15 min for a total of 60.32 miles.

IMG_4525I tried a new recipe today – turkey burgers! They were pretty good. Harry needed a little convincing, but eventually he made an attempt to approach his dinner with an open mind. Flirt male  I don’t foresee us ever giving up “real” burgers, but I like being able to give our diet some variety.

It’s been nice having sunshine later in the evening. Usually I find this week tiring, but I find it so much easier now that we just sleep until whenever we wake up. Daylight savings time is not so hard to take when you’re just goin’ with the flow…Open-mouthed smile

  1. My husband would never approach anything different with an open mind, so I know exactly what you mean. He would always make up his mind not to like something, and of course he didn't He was strictly a meat and potatoes guy. I am still in shock that he went to eating vegan and that he now will try anything I give him, and with an open mind. Miracles do happen!

Congrats on becoming South Dakota residents. Too bad you couldn't get the drivers licenses that easily.

  2. Wow, you are doing good with the walking. I need to get motivated, again. Last winter when I was on Mustang Island and in Rockport, I did a lot of walking on the beach and bike riding. I have gotten away from that and need to get back into it again. I have tried some frozen turkey patties that were seasoned with sage or poultry seasoning and were very good.

  3. We eat turkey burgers all the time. If they're seasoned just right, sometimes they almost taste as good as a real burger :) Isn't it fun being from South Dakota!?

  4. It is amazing how far we both have come since last year this time. Try the turkey sausage, it's not bad either.

  5. Portobello mushroom burgers are pretty tasty. Marinate them in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, crushed garlic and italian seasoning then toss them on the grill. Yum!
