Today was my day off, but it wasn’t a quiet relaxing one. I headed out first thing for an early morning doctor’s appt. It was a routine follow-up appointment, but by the time I got out it was going on 9 o’clock. That worked out pretty well, because I had to stop at the county office in Albany to renew my notary (or at least that was my intention). My renewal application had been mailed to the apartment building where I used to live, so it had been returned to the county office as undeliverable. I was going to renew it there, but didn’t realize that it has to be done in the county of residence. So, after picking up the renewal app, I returned home to get our GPS, because the Rensselaer county offices are in the city of Troy, which is a winding maze of one way streets. I really dislike driving in Troy. Thankfully, with the GPS, I was able to get there, renew my notary, and get out of the city, with only a little aggravation. Then I still had to stop and do some grocery shopping on the way home. By this time, the entire morning had gone by. I was pretty tired when I finally landed at home, so the rest of the afternoon was pretty low-key.
When Harry got home, we went into Albany to TGI Fridays for a drink and appetizer to celebrate the sale of the elliptical this week. A nice end to the day.
The little excitement for me with renewing my notary is that my new expiration date is 11/2014!! Now, every time I notarize a document and write that date I can think about the fact that, if all goes well, we will be on the road when that day rolls around.
