Ice Banks

Today has been a busy day, but we accomplished a lot. We did start out with a leisurely morning of coffee, and our big Sunday breakfast of eggs, fried potatoes, bacon and bagels. We needed some nourishment for the job ahead of us!

Our major project for the day…

…cleaning up this driveway!!

While it may not look like much in the pictures above, under that inch or two of snow was a major amount of ice. In some areas down the driveway, it turned out to be 4 to 6 inches thick. However, we were determined to get rid of it. Or maybe I should say, remove it from the driveway. Because while it may be gone (from the driveway)…

…it will certainly not be forgotten anytime soon.

Anyone want to venture a guess what month it will be when this melts?

  1. Man oh man, that's back breaking work. Even with the warm(er) temps coming this week, I'll bet that stuff will be there until the rally :)

  2. You DO have so much more snow than us. Luckily once the warm weather gets here it melts quickly. You can almost sit and watch it go down. And remember no matter what happens..... by June this will all be a memory.

See ya at the rally. It is getting closer!

  3. Wow! I cannot imagine shoveling snow but I have hoed lots of weeds out of gardens, and that too is back breaking. It's probably a good work-out.

The Tennessee River will be rising from all of the snow melt.

  4. Wow, that's a lot of work! I can't say that I miss shoveling snow. We never had much ice in Colorado, but the melted snow would freeze at the end of our driveway and we frequently had quite an ice patch. But we were lucky that it melt within a week or two at the most. Hopefully, the weather will warm up and the snow will stop. We'll hope so for your sake!
