Another Item Checked Off

This is my second time with this post! I had it almost all done, and somehow the cursor moved and it erased the WHOLE thing!!! So here goes try #2…

006As I was saying….the hallway is now done. What a great feeling! It has been a LONG time coming. I’m not even going to say when we started working on this hall – suffice to say, it was quite a while ago. Then we just kept moving on to other projects and leaving this one half finished. In the picture, you can see the partially primed hallway with the dark paint still showing at the top.

007

Yesterday Harry worked on priming the top part of the stairwell while I put a first coat of the new paint on the lower part that I could reach.

008

I think Ariel is deciding whether she wants to try climbing this ladder.

012

Today we put a second coat on the whole wall. I was glad that Harry was willing to do the stuff way up at the top. I like keeping my feet on the ground!

(Learned my lesson – I just saved a draft of this post.)

And here is the finished product!!

It’s not as yellow as it looks in the picture. It was still wet when I took it.

Other than that, there wasn’t too much going on today. We had to take a trip to the Walmart in the next town. The cell phone tower in our town is having problems of some sort, so we have had no service since Friday night. We called Verizon yesterday and they are aware of the problem and working on it, but in the meantime we have no cell service at our house. And we have no house phone. So we had to travel this afternoon to make a phone call. Luckily we didn’t have to go very far. I hope they get it fixed quickly – I miss  my phone!

Well, it’s almost time to start another week, and we are now down to five days until our trip to Tennessee! I am sure this week will go quickly, because we still have a lot of organizing and packing to do before next Saturday! Open-mouthed smile We’ll deal with it!

  1. House is looking good! You must be very frustrated without phones. Can't wait to hear about the trip to Tennessee!

  2. Congratulations on checking off another job. Those entry ways are so hard. Getting to those high spots was always the scariest thing about painting when we had our house. Hopefully you will never have to do it again!
