Long Time No Blog!

IMG_2349Wow, I can’t believe that it’s been almost a week since my last blog entry!! It’s been a whirlwind week – with work of course, and a quick trip over the weekend to see Harry’s son Andrew.

A few highlights to catch up…

We are continuing to work on the outside areas of the house. Our realtor wants to take pictures of the property when the fiver is not sitting in the driveway. After comparing the plans for our future trips with her calendar, we have set the date for the pictures – which is going to take place on our next trip! Sometime between July 21st and 25th, the pictures of the outside of the house will be taken. So that clock is ticking down very quickly.

Our major project between now and then is picking up the shed debris. We are planning to start that tomorrow as long as the weather cooperates. So hopefully I will have an update for how the bagster bags work tomorrow.

As I already mentioned, we traveled to East Haven, CT over the weekend.

The buildings seem to be pretty old, and many of them are made out of brick.

We found a great seafood place to go for lunch. The ambiance was simple, but the portions were very generous.

I had just a little left over to bring home.

While we were there, Andrew showed us the family tree that he has been building using ancestry.com. Genealogy is one of my interests, and I have been planning for quite a while to start working on my family tree. (But putting it off because I didn’t want to spend the money on joining.) After seeing the progress Andrew has made, I came home on Sunday once again fired up with enthusiasm to check out the website and ended up creating a membership myself. So working on that has taken up a lot of my time over the past few days. I’m even behind on my blog reading!!

Seventeen days until our next trip!!

  1. Time does pass rapidly sometimes. We want to see the pictures of the house when you get them. It's always so neat to see things coming together.

  2. I like how ancestry.com works. I haven't joined, but it lets you get do far without paying. It is a cool way to research the family tree.

  3. Luckily my mothers cousin (since deceased) did lots of research. She willed all of her stuff, and it's a LOT, to my older daughter who also does research on ancestry.com. It's was a natural to will it to her as my daughter is an archaeologist and used to research.

I understand it can be quite addicting. Keep her the good work.

  4. Time flies when you're having fun. I'm not big on ancestry stuff but I just might give this site a look.

Have a great 4th of July!!
