One Month

Location: Catskill, NY (High 38, Low 23)

It was one month ago today that we packed up our fiver and pulled out of the driveway for the final time. We have made it through a month of winter temps, and two snowstorms. The only time that I really found challenging was when our temperatures went below zero, mostly because of the frozen water line. Our fiver really does hold the heat very well. But, we are still looking forward to getting somewhere where the weather is warmer and the sun is shining. And, judging by our weather forecast for later next week, we are getting out of here in the nick of time.

Harry’s last day of work went great – although he said he was bored. Guess he didn’t have too much to do, go figure! It’s over now though, and he is on vacation/retirement.

We are definitely planning to leave Tuesday. Weather looks good, and it will still be relatively warm then. Monday will be our running around day. I have a list of last minute things we need to get done, and Harry has scheduled an oil change for the truck. I have excitement butterflies in my stomach. This is IT!

Two days….21 hours….to takeoff!!!

  1. You sure do like to be up early. Need to relax! Try not to do too much "running around".
Harry won't be bored for long.
    Have fun.

  2. Like Bob said you'll have to learn to relax. Maybe you could do some of those errands today and tomorrow so you could be out of there on Monday. Then you might have the same problem Kathy had the last few days of having to run the AC to take the humidity out of the air. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  3. Hope you enjoy your first "IT" pull-out; there will be many more down the road. :) Hope, too, that your weather holds there. We're looking at possible snow Monday night through Tuesday night here, but it could be a mixture of snow and rain. Don't forget to check the forecast not only where you are, but where you are headed. So happy and excited for you guys!

  4. You folks have been on a dead run for the last three years.....perhaps it is time to dispense with to do lists and schedules and take things as they come. Retired, that's really what its all about... Not needing to schedule what happens tomorrow.... Enjoy!

  5. I was just looking at your map and thinking ahead to all the many states you will soon be able to fill in. the map will no longer be mainly gray but filled with color. I hope your lives reflect that color and are filled with joy. Good luck and best wishes.
