And More Stuff Done!

This has been another productive few days. We are making lists and crossing off items to stay motivated and keep ourselves moving forward.

009We have almost all of the furniture ready to go in two weeks. I have the desk all emptied except for one drawer. I did put some items in a small box to be sorted out – pens, keys, small pads, scissors, and other miscellaneous items.

No real exciting pictures, but a few empty drawers to show for the day’s work – which is exciting to me!

Harry, in the meantime, was working on plugging up some more areas in the fiver. He has also ordered some cleaning solution and supplies from Camping World so that we can wash off the "road” dust and the “sitting in one place” dust.008

Harry also working on staining trim, and has finished two more windows. We have four rooms done, and five to go. We are almost halfway there!

After working on the desk, I started scanning my recipes. I have scanned 63 recipes so far. I plan to work on those some more after dinner. It is so great to know that I have one whole binder’s worth of recipes scanned already!

So that’s it for news from our little corner of the world - nothing too earth-shattering going on, but some slow and steady progress!

  1. I was going to scan our recipes, but found it just didn't work very well for me. I had to make to many corrections!

I use the internet a lot more than cookbooks these days, but still have five binders filled with recipes from the last 20 years.

Craig likes to read the food section and tells me to save this or that.

In stead I have started working with the Allrecipes web site.

I have a "recipe box" that has as many folders as I want. I can add their recipes to my collection or key in my own. I can also web link to other recipes or recipe collections. I have web linked to Eating Well for a lot of them.

As I go thru the binders I find I have different versions of the same type of dishes. I'm eliminating some of them.

I'm almost thru one of five binders, and am discovering so many old favorites!

If you do a few at a time you will get them all in sooner or later!

  4. Good for you and Harry...getting a lot done. I have to agree with Merikay on the recipes. I rarely refer to my cookbooks and binders anymore...just go to one of my online folders or one of the recipe sites to find what I need. I have a few favorites that I printed out but most everything else, I just store online.

  5. Sounds like you're making good progress. This brings back memories - or perhaps flashbacks! - of our preparations to hit the road. I scanned so many photos; it was a time-consuming project but also a fun stroll down memory lane. Keep up the good work!
