Tired – But Pleased With our Progress

Happy Independence Day! Hope everyone is enjoying a nice relaxing holiday. Smile

IMG_2398We haven’t been relaxing today, but it’s been a very good day nonetheless. Today was BAGSTER day!

We began the day facing a daunting pile of debris to be discarded.

We followed the instructions in placing the bag where it can easily be picked up.

And then we started right in bringing pieces over and placing them in the bag. The biggest pain about the whole process was the number of nails in each piece. We nailed them all flat before we brought them over.

We tried to fit the pieces together as neatly as possible. We figured that would allow us to get the greatest amount of material in each bag.

By 11:30 the first bag was full. According to the instructions, the yellow tabs must be able to touch.

After a short break to catch our breath and have a cold drink, we got back to work.

By about 2 or 2:30, we had two bags full. The bag on the left still had some room, so we went into the garage and filled two or three wheelbarrows full of garbage.

We are feeling very satisfied with the results of today’s labors. Tomorrow morning we will call and schedule pickup of these two bags.

We are going to get one more bag. IMG_2411

We still have a little more material to get rid of from this morning’s starting pile.

Plus we have some more bricks to get rid of – we put a row of ten in the second dumpster bag, but couldn’t quite fit them all.

We still have the floor to the shed to take apart.

But the garage is really starting to shape up!

The majority of what can be seen in this picture is being given away. The wood leaning against the wall is going in the third bagster.

This area is almost all cleaned out, and a lot of what we do have left will have to be disposed of through the town program – paints, and aerosol cans etc.

Looking good!!

We are both ready to take it easy for the rest of the day – knowing we were going to be wiped out by this afternoon, I made some macaroni salad this morning and cut up veggies to cook on the grill with some steak for dinner. Ahhh! Open-mouthed smile
