After all the months of work and remodeling, planning and dreaming, we find ourselves today at the point where we have ONE month left. One month from today, our house goes up for sale.
I looked back at some pictures this morning to get a sense of how far we have come over the past few years.
Truly, I can barely remember that our house even used to look like this – Feb. 2010.
It’s easier to say what hasn’t changed…ummm, the frame of the cabinets and the garden window had already been put in when I took this picture. Other than that, everything else is new.
I wasn’t blogging back then, so unfortunately I don’t have many pictures from 2009 and early 2010 that show the house.
I did find a couple earlier ones of the garage…
Just about everything in this picture is gone now. And you can see the old metal shelf on the left side of the picture – Harry hadn’t built the new shelves yet. This was June 2010.
This is over by Harry’s workbench. Umm, well, you can’t actually SEE his workbench, but take my word for it, it’s there! The new shelves weren’t over here either.
Here’s one from August 2010…
This is the carpet from the upstairs guest room before we had the wood flooring…
And the new flooring going in…
Oh, and everything you can see in this picture is gone now.
Wow, that’s the other thing…in going back and looking through these pictures, I’ve been reminded of how much STUFF we’ve gotten rid of over the past three years. I’ve seen lots of things this morning that I forgot we ever had! Dressers, small fridges, elliptical, baby furniture, desk, suitcases, and bags and bags of clothes, just to mention a few. There’s been a lot of changes around here.
And now, here we are, at the one month point. Thirty days from today we put this house up for sale, and we hope and pray that all of our hard work, time, and the money we spent on all our projects will help us find a buyer who would like to take it off our hands.
We are SO ready to hit the road!
No more counting months now....it's days now! I hope it sells quickly.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how we totally forget we ever "needed" all that stuff. The countdown is really on now.
ReplyDeletehard to believe it's only a month now!..I remember when you were doing the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice when time flies when you want to get to the fun times. Hopefully when we're all on the road, time will go slowly!
ReplyDeleteYes, I wish, but I'm sure that time will fly much too quickly as well. :(
DeleteHow exciting! I am one of those that has to have a home to come back to... but I cheer on any who decide to ditch the "norm" and go for it all!
