New Year’s 2013

Here we are at the start of another year! This blog entry is going to be different from my New Year’s blogs of years past. Ever since I started this blog, my first entry of the year has contained a list, and usually a pretty extensive list, of those jobs we needed to complete throughout the year. We don’t have any of those left! (Only selling our Honda, which hopefully will be done next week.)

So my goals today for this upcoming year are more of the personal variety! That’s a welcome change.

Healthy living is my #1 goal! I started making some changes in the way I cooked, and what I ate this past October. Although my weight loss slowed quite a bit in December, I did manage to lose a few pounds, for a total of 20 pounds so far. That is a third of the way to my goal. So now that the craziness of the holidays, house sale, and getting done work is over, I am hoping to get back on track.

As part of my (our) goal of healthy living, we want to become more active. We will be getting started on that goal after we get out of this icebox!

We are so excited to be getting started on our new life! Harry has 8 days of work left, and then we hope to be able to head out. We have our route south pretty much planned and will be staying in Florida for the months of February and March. (We originally wanted to head to the southwest, but with our time constraints we didn’t feel that it was worth traveling all that way this year – next winter!)  In April we will travel up to PA for a Heartland Owners campout. Then we will head for South Dakota to set up our residency and get our drivers licenses. From there, we will be heading back to the northeast for the summer months to take care of necessary appointments and visit with family and friends. At least that’s the plan!

Here’s hoping for a great 2013 for all of us!!

Thirteen days until we hit the road!

    1. We are going to be going to Lancaster in April, and staying for a couple weeks. Then traveling from there towards South Dakota, so we may have one more stop in western PA.

  4. Sounds like a goood plan. If you haven't picked out a park for Florida yet I can recommend Adelaide Shores RV Resort in Avon Park, FL with no hesitation. Judy and I have really liked it here and plan to come back next winter. We will be leaving here Jan 29 for Jacksonville for a couple of days and then back home to GA.

    1. We do already have our plans set - in Jacksonville for Feb. and then to a place near Gainesville for the month of March. The Jacksonville park looks like it might be a bit barebones, but we are mainly going there because Harry has family in the area.
