Of Spring, that is!
It was a balmy 46 degrees this evening and we decided to take advantage of the nice temperatures…
…to cook on the barbeque for the first time this season!
If you look in the background of the pictures, you can see the snow is hanging on.
But the sunshine is attempting to do its job. You can see from the darker area where the snow has receded just since this morning. AND…
…my tulips are coming up around the lamppost!! I love tulips! Definitely my favorite flower, probably because they mean the nicer weather is coming.
Last year actually they didn’t do too well, I think because it got so warm so quickly. The sun just cooked them, and a lot of the buds never even opened. It does not appear that “too hot, too soon” will be an issue this year.
YUM! First barbeque meal of the year!!
Just be yer unluck if them twolips blooms where yer on yer vacation.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! You're probably right, and I'll miss them! The same thing happened last year. Guess I should stop planning April vacations!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be missing those early spring flowers I had planted back in the northeast - daffodils, tulips, crocus.
ReplyDeleteBut you can enjoy them for me. Thanks!
Tulips are almost considered an annual here because they don't get enough cold time. The deer also just love the flowers!
ReplyDeletegood luck with the tulips..I hope they bloom when you are at home!!!..nice barbeque dinner!..we barbeque all year long..but we live on the 'wet coast'!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet some other planers! Looking forward to enjoying your journey to retirement!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr....where are your hats, scarves, gloves, down coats?
