Laid Low

I sure am glad that we came back from VA when we did. All day on Friday, as we were traveling back, I had a sore throat and was feeling a little sluggish. But by Saturday morning it was a full blown cold. Yuck. I haven’t had a cold in quite a while, maybe even over a year, but this one knocked me for a loop. I spent Saturday and Sunday on the couch, sleeping on and off. I am feeling somewhat better today, thank goodness.

While I have been sleeping off this cold, Harry has been busy – he checked the batteries, freshened up the peppermint oil that is hopefully doing its job repelling little critters, and he worked on winterizing the icemaker in the rv. He had to put air into the water lines, and manually operate the icemaker to blow air through. The only piece he has left is to put some antifreeze into the water lines. Now the outside of the rv is pretty well set for the winter. Harry has ordered some roof cleaner and treatment which should be coming soon. This Saturday looks like it will be a perfect day for working on the roof.

Today is our last day off before we go back to work. I took it off because who wants to go back to work after vacation on their birthday! That’s right, today is the day! I turn the big 45!! In honor of that day, I am going to relax and enjoy one more day off! And, my favorite – Chinese – for dinner tonight. Yum.

Have a great day everyone! Open-mouthed smile

  7. Ah, to be 45 again! *snort* I'm coming up on 55, so I can (maybe) spout that sort of nonsense.
Sucks to get a cold. (I almost wrote "sucks to get old" Ha!)
I've been lucky so far in the sniffles department. I'm a regular hand washer.
Never know what lurks on those surfaces when you're in a strange place.
    Feel better soon!
    and...

    Happy Birthday!

  9. As soon as we got home from our weekend trip I renewed the plastic boxes of moth balls I put under the Alfa and put out new rodent bate. I glued blocks to plastic lids and tied strings to them before i pushed them under. They were not disturbed for almost a moth, and then the night before our trip all six baits disappeared and all the water was gone from the bowl I put "away" from the rig. I think it was something larger than a mouse. Perhaps a coon or squirrel. Who ever took them should no longer be.

I think it will be an ongoing battle as long as the rig is parked in the forest. And beyond!
