Cooling Off (A Bit)

Well! It sure has been a long time since I have had “quality time” to catch up on my blog. And reading other blogs? Has not been happening. It’s just been a busy week. My day off was fun, but did not provide any time, as I left the house in the wee hours of the morning, and didn’t get back until past my bedtime! :) And then the rest of the week went by so fast – there was just no time!

So anyway, here I am. Welcome to Ken and Nanette, who are my most recent followers. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my blog. I was reading your blog the other day, and you are in my neck of the woods this summer. Harry and I just drove by the area where you are staying a few days ago. :)

Speaking of…a couple pictures from our trip home last weekend…

I don’t even know what to talk about first. I don’t want to skip over the events of the past week, but I don’t want to have a super long entry either! First of all, an update on the truck. We have a check in hand (actually I deposited it in our account when I went to work this morning!). This more than doubles the amount of money we have saved for our next truck. The plan is to save diligently for the next three years, and then we will hopefully buy our new truck without having to do any financing at all. The fifth wheel we will have to finance, but we are hoping to have 20 – 25k to put down, and then just finance the rest until we sell the house and are able to pay it off with the proceeds.

The last time I wrote I was telling about our trip to the city. It was fun. We went to see the Broadway show, Billy Elliot. It was very good, and the 11 year old who played the lead was a great dancer. We had lunch in that diner I wrote about the other day, and then we walked about the city a bit. It was my sister’s first time seeing Times Square in person.

Of course, these pictures don’t do it justice, and at night is even better, with all the bright lights and buildings lit up. Unfortunately we were only there during the daytime hours.

After the show, we went to Starbucks to hang out while we were waiting for the bus to come around to pick us up.

Here are the happy travelers….

Now that I am back on track, I’m ready to get caught up on what is going on in everybody else’s life! :) Haha – it will probably take me the rest of the weekend to read all the blog entries I have missed all week.

  1. Oh love it!! Seeing pics from your trip make me want to head east instead of west! We went to NY a few years ago, and didn't get to see a show. Now what kind of fools go all the way to NY without having Broadway on the agenda? Glad you're back home! Missed ya in blog world!

  2. Thanks Nellie! :) I'm glad to be back too! How long will it take you to head east in your travels? Our first plan when we hit the road full time is to head west! For the first couple of years, we will only be able to travel on vacations, so we will mainly have to stick to the east coast until we aren't working anymore.
